"The team at Novecom have transformed the opportunities for the children we work with, by giving us the tools and support to focus even more on their welfare and wellbeing. We are looking forward to continuing our collaboration as we roll out the solution beyond South America to Africa and Asia."
Challenge
Street Kids Direct works with grassroots organisations in Central America to protect vulnerable children from the dangers of street life. However, frontline teams operated with fragmented paper records, inconsistent safeguarding documentation, and limited access to historical case information. These gaps made it difficult to track health concerns, monitor engagement, or maintain reliable case histories - especially in environments with limited resources or unreliable connectivity. The charity needed a secure, mobile-first system that could support outreach, safeguarding, and education programmes in real time, even offline.
Solution
We designed and delivered a connected digital platform tailored for field teams, mentoring centres, and schools. Built using low-code technologies, the system enables staff to log safeguarding concerns, record daily interactions, and build complete case histories directly at the point of care. A dedicated medical records module allows teams to track injuries, illnesses, and treatments, ensuring essential health information is always available.
To support education and prevention efforts, we created an iPad application for schools and mentoring centres. Staff can manage attendance, track behaviour, issue awards, and monitor progress, while built-in KPIs offer clear insight into each child’s development. The platform’s offline functionality ensures continuity in low-connectivity environments, and synchronisation with the cloud provides consistency, security, and scalability across international partners.
Impact
The platform has transformed how Street Kids Direct and its partners deliver support - enabling faster, safer, and more consistent care. Frontline teams now maintain accurate, real-time case histories; safeguarding and medical information is stored securely and accessed instantly; and educational engagement is tracked with clarity.
With 3,753 children supported, 620 in regular schooling, and 150 actively mentored, the system provides a robust foundation for measurable impact. The success of the platform has enabled the charity to prepare for global expansion across South America, Africa, and Asia - with Novecom continuing to support rollout, training, and localisation as the model scales.
