Challenge
Battery Technologies, a UK specialist in industrial battery maintenance and repair, depended on paper forms, spreadsheets, and disconnected systems to run its nationwide service operation. As the business grew, these manual processes made it difficult to manage jobs, maintain service quality, control stock, or scale engineering capacity. Office teams lacked a unified view of scheduling, invoicing, and operational performance, while service technicians had limited tools for accurate reporting and documentation. To continue expanding while maintaining reliability and compliance, the company needed a digital platform that could unify field operations, office administration, and financial workflows.
Solution
We initially delivered a full end-to-end digital service platform, including job management, CRM functionality, engineer mobile apps, route planning, photo capture, signature collection, and automated service sheet generation - all of which replaced paper-based processes and improved consistency .
Since then, the system has been significantly expanded building a portal based office administration platform that centralises scheduling, diary management, stock tracking, operational oversight, and service history. A deep integration with Xero now manages invoicing, reconciliation, and financial accuracy automatically. We added business forecasting tools, improved workflow automation, and introduced real-time stock and parts management to support faster engineer turnaround.
For engineers, we developed cross platform mobile apps that handle job management, diagnostics, photos, compliance checks, and reporting directly on-site - fully synchronised with the cloud platform, and even working in offline mode. Together, the solution now provides a unified operational ecosystem for office teams, engineers, and finance.

The digital platform now supports over 5,000 service jobs, ensures 100% UK coverage, and has contributed to an EBITDA increase of more than 30% by reducing time on-site, eliminating data duplication, and improving throughput . Office teams benefit from instant visibility across scheduling, invoicing, and stock, while engineers complete jobs more quickly with structured digital workflows.
The business now operates with a scalable, modernised system that supports continued growth, improves diagnostic accuracy, and enables innovation - including the development of an AI-powered bench assistant to support engineers during fault diagnosis and repair.
